The article is devoted to the actual problem of authentic performance of the Baroque era vocal music. Taking into account the rapid revival of the ancient masters’ music in Russia, the author raises matters of solving existing problems in the field of vocal education in the ancient music specialization, which is still absent in the professional training program of modern singers. The article presents the authorʼs curriculum for vocal faculties of music universities. The program gradually reveals the features of the Baroque music historical interpretation, gives recommendations on using vocal techniques when teaching students to perform pre-classical vocal repertoire samples in combination of all components of musical expression, according to the traditions and rules of ancient masters. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of stylistic issues in the performance process, in which it becomes important not only to master the technique of bel canto and various aspects of artistic expression, but also to understand the general trends in the interpretation of this music.
