Bashkir Opera Studio at the Moscow Conservatory at the Time of Ufa Evacuation: Pages of History

Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of the Bashkir Opera Studio at the Moscow Conservatory at the time of its evacuation to Ufa during the Great Patriotic War. The material presented in the article is based on the analysis of a significant documentary file, dispersed in the archives of the Russian State Archives of Literature and Art, of the Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory, of the Republic of Bashkortostan National Archives. Most of the materials are introduced into scientific use for the first time. The purpose of the article is to recreate the chronology of events which are related to the resumption of the studio’s activities under the Ufa evacuation on the basis of previously unknown documentary evidence. On the basis of archival documents the exact dates of beginning and ending training sessions in various specialties, the number of students were found, the list of teachers (in most of the evacuees) was restored, the academic disciplines were indicated, the results of studies were noted, and material and housing problems were indicated, the studio financing system was
highlighted.


The principle of objectivity, as one of the leading principles of historical research, implying the recreation of historical reality, that is based on true facts, has become the leading one in the given work. One of the main methods used in the article is the method of historical reconstruction, which provides for the reconstruction of real events using available sources. In the process of presenting the results of reconstruction was used a form of historical narration that was based on the narrative theory of the reconstructive knowledge design.
