Abstract

The article presents a description of Bashkirian version of mouth
organ (Ger. Maultrommel), the idiophone, well-known in many ethnic
cultures worldwide. A brief overview of these instruments is provided.
The author clarifies the facts, related to the area of distribution, etymology
of the name agas-kubyz, and chronology of discovery of Bashkirian
wooden mouth organ.
