It is given some information about him as a virtuoso performer, original composer, Professor of the Russian A. Gnessins Academy of Music, the founder of the domestic domra art school, the developer of sound production new methods, about the author of works of large and small forms, original transcriptions and arrangements, concerts, sonatas and suites, about the initiator and organizer of numerous festivals and competitions for folk instruments performers, about his famous master classes and lectures held in the cities of Russia and the world. All this gives an idea of the many-sided activity of the musician, which determines, in particular, the effectiveness of academization of a folk instrument process.

First of all, the article comprehends the peculiarities of A. Tsygankov՚s performance which he himself considers to be the main line of his creative way. The main milestones and features of this way are traced – the years of studying, victories in contests, the inclusion of non-trivial and risky creative tasks, the renewal of the repertoire; are noted achievements in solo and ensemble music-making, as well as in conducting, mastered during the years of leadership of the Academic Folk Ensemble “Russiaˮ. Creating own methodology for mastering the technique of “plastic intonationˮ (A. Tsygankov՚s definition) is considered. Large-scale concepts and readings are fixed. At the same time, to characterize A. Tsygankov as a concert performer, was used Ts. Kohoutek’s concept “aleatoric of the performing and reproduction process”, which reflects the impact of the factor of unpreset on the playing process. The latter can serve as additional evidence of the modernity of the Master՚s creative thinking.
