Abstract

The article raises the problem of the phenomenon of the timbre of a musical instrument simulation. The disclosure of the simulacrum function or imitation in the music art is connected both with the continuity of the attitude towards the “sounds ideal” of well-known instruments and with the search for new timbres. In forming a musical instrumentation fundamentally new type, simulacra have an important intermediate place in the “chain” of creating a new sound. The study of the specific acoustic patterns of the modeled units reveals the field of sound engineering thought creativity: the way to create unique phonation algorithms.

At the present time, musicians have opposite points of view regarding simulacra in electronic music, and, in particular, the acceptance of digital instruments. According to the author of the article, the presence of simulacra of acoustic timbres in the sample banks of digital musical instruments is primarily due to the lack of an original repertoire for keyboard digital instruments and is a necessary transitional stage in the development of a new musical direction.
