Musical Culture in the South of the Yenisei Province In the First Years of the Soviet Governance

Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of the musical culture of one of the largest Russian regions – the southern part of the Yenisei province. On the basis of a wide range of previously unpublished archival documents and periodicals of the first quarter of the 20th century, the author made an attempt to highlight the musical and historical processes that took place in southern Siberia in 1920–1925. Studying and systematizing a significant amount of factual material (charters, minutes, reports, posters, reviews, autobiographies, letters, announcements, handwritten and printed music texts, etc.), introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, allowed to present an objective picture of cultural and musical life in the considered Siberian region in the difficult political and economic period of Russian history.
