Vocal-Performing Features of Tenor Parts in Operas of Chuvash Composers

Abstract

The relevance of the article is due to the need to preserve and promote the national academic musical heritage, in particular, the best pages of the Chuvash opera classics, in connection with the centenary of the Chuvash Autonomy formation, celebrated in 2020. The article points out the manifestation of the traditions of the Russian opera school in the Chuvash opera, notes the difficulties of performing national music (including language), in particular, tenor roles in Chuvash operas. The main task of the work is to study the main vocal and performing features of tenor parts. The article analyzes the part of Setner in the most popular opera on the Chuvash stage – “Narspi” by G. Hirby (created in 1967) and the part of Kosinsky in the opera by A. Vasiliev “Ivan Yakovlev” (world premiere in 2007). For the first time, vocal and methodological recommendations for the preparation of tenor roles by performers are formulated. This work will undoubtedly be useful to all those who study the history of the national vocal art of the nations of Russia and of the former USSR, to vocal teachers, young singers and students of vocal departments of the different educational institutions.
