Abstract

Academic music of Kazakhstan is a holistic and multifaceted phenomenon. Today it is characterized by the intensive development of stylistic trends, the diversity of which is largely associated with the activities of composers of different generations [11, р. 113–115]. In composersʼ work, there is a search for going beyond the limits of classical-romantic thinking, in connection with whichworks of an experimental orientation are widespread.

In this article we will turn to the work of a young composer, a representative of the «another space» of modern musical culture of Kazakhstan – Sanzhar Baiterekov1. The material for the study was a group of his experimental compositions, in particular, the scores “Outlines of [Steiermark]” and “Outlines of Tangible 1”.

These works are considered in the context of stylistic searches of the XXI century. Thus, a new principle for the implementation of folklore for Kazakh composers is revealed, in which the world of noises is recreated, reflecting the essential properties of the “phonosphere” of the Turk-Nomads. This is illustrated by the analysis of the sonor piece “Outlines of Tangible 1”. Another important trend associated with the search for a new sound through the use of media, digital technologies, unmusical patterns of text construction, is revealed by the example of the analysis of the cycle “Outlines of [Steiermark]”.

It is these opuses that open up new prospects for the development of Kazakh music and organically fit into one of the leading trends of our time, which, by analogy with the famous international festival, can be defined as “another music, another view, another discoveries, another worlds – another space” [8].
